Our Objectives
1. Building community
We foster and support a community of medical students of Latin American heritage, as well as all students, regardless of ethnic background, who are interested in Latin culture and health.
2. Addressing underepresentation
We address the stark under-representation of Latin medical students in Canada through outreach and mentorship for marginalized Latino youth at high schools, universities, and community centres.
3. Sharing knowledge
We share knowledge and understanding among medical students of all backgrounds on the social determinants of health related to Latin American populations across Canada, so that they learn to provide culturally competent care.
