Discussion Panel on the Socioeconomic Factors of Healthcare - The Varsity Article
Our very own Nichole and Ray at the UofT Chapter lead discussions on the social determinants of Latino health at a symposium started by CALMS President Pablo Gonzalez called “Bridging Past, Present, and Future in Latin American Healthcare.” This event was featured by Varsity, UofT's student newspaper. CALMS team members Christian, Pablo, Eduardo and Veronica attended the Conexiones Latinas Conference in Toronto! While celebrating the Latin community, they gave a talk about CALMS and opportunities to help in medicine in the latin community!

Latin American Scholarship Foundation 2024 Awards Ceremony
Some of our CALMS team members attended the Latin American Scholarship Foundation 2024 Awards Ceremony. The nonprofit organization supports high school students to pursue higher education through student grants.

Latin Celebration Day - York United FC Football Game
Our CALMS team cheering for York United FC during their exhibition game at York Lions Stadium. Through this collaboration, a portion of ticket sale revenue was donated to CALMS, directly supporting our mentorship programs and mission to aid Latin medical students and healthcare professionals.

Future Doctors Workshop
In the future doctors workshop, we talked about the Latin American ACCESS Pathway for students applying to Schulich (UWO's medical school), offered tips and advice for future students, and shared a day in the life of a doctor in Canada. We also had a guest speaker, an International Medical Graduate, who shared their journey becoming a physician in Canada.
