Salsa Night Fundraiser
At our fundraising Salsa Night, in collaboration with the UofT Med Dance Club, we danced, made friends, and raised money for the Centre for Spanish Speaking Peoples, a Latin nonprofit supporting Latin American individuals through various aid programs.

Free Salsa Dance Class
The Schulich team hosted a free salsa dance class, taught by CALMS member and Schulich medical student Monica Daniela. Students were able to de-stress and network with peers, while learning more about the traditional Latin dance.

Latinos Positivos
Latinos Positivos featured Latin Americans with HIV in Toronto speaking to medical students about their experiences, the impact of their heritage on their condition, and their interactions with the Canadian healthcare system.

Spanish & Portuguese Lessons for Healthcare Workers
Our CALMS Schulich team held a workshop teaching Spanish and Portuguese lessons to current medical students. Participants attended both in person and through Zoom.

High School Outreach
Medical and nursing students, together with Latin American doctors, shared inspiring stories and experiences from their educational and professional journeys, while our volunteers taught students basic clinical skills such as using a stethoscope and taking blood pressure.
